Apple Watch Series 12 GPS 42mm Gets Its First Discount

If you’ve been waiting for a chance to pick up Apple’s latest smartwatch for less, there’s now a small but notable deal worth checking out. The Apple Watch Series 12 GPS 42mm has dropped to around $389 at Amazon, bringing the price below its $399 launch price.

That $10 discount may not be huge, but the Series 12 is still a newly released Apple Watch, making any early price reduction worth highlighting. The deal applies to select 42mm GPS configurations, so pricing can vary depending on the case finish and band.

Apple Watch Series 12 at a Lower Price

The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 for the standard configuration, while Apple currently lists 42mm GPS models from $359 depending on the selected case and band combination.

The Amazon discount gives shoppers another option for buying the latest Apple Watch without paying the standard retail price. Deal pricing can change quickly, so the current price should be checked before purchasing.

What You Get With Apple Watch Series 12

The Series 12 features Apple’s S11 chip and introduces several health and fitness improvements. Apple has also upgraded its health-sensing capabilities, with improved heart-rate tracking and new metrics designed to provide users with more detailed information about their activity and recovery.

The smartwatch also offers features for tracking workouts, sleep, heart health and daily activity. Its 42mm case provides a compact option for shoppers who prefer a smaller watch compared with the 46mm model. Battery life has also improved, with Apple Watch Series 12 offering up to 24 hours of typical use, according to recent reports.

GPS Model Is Ideal for iPhone Users

The GPS version is designed for users who generally keep their iPhone nearby. Apple says the GPS model can make calls and send messages when the paired iPhone is nearby, while GPS + Cellular models can stay connected without the iPhone.

For shoppers who don't need standalone cellular connectivity, the GPS model can provide a more affordable way to get Apple's newest smartwatch features.

Should You Buy the Apple Watch Series 12 Deal?

At around $389, the Series 12 GPS 42mm is only $10 below its $399 starting price, so this isn't a major discount. However, it is notable because the Series 12 is still new and this represents one of its first reported Amazon price reductions.

Amazon's October Prime Day event is also scheduled for October 6–7, meaning additional Apple Watch discounts could appear soon.

If you want the newest Apple Watch now, the current discount offers a modest saving. If you're primarily looking for the lowest possible price, it may be worth watching prices closely as October sales approach.
