Apple Reportedly Preparing Three New Smart Home Products for October 13
John

Apple could be preparing for another major product launch this month, with reports pointing to October 13 as a key date for the company's smart-home strategy.
According to reports citing Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple plans to introduce three new smart-home products: an all-new smart home hub, a second-generation HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV 4K. Apple has not officially confirmed the October 13 launch or announced an event.
Apple’s New Home Hub Could Be the Star
The most significant product expected to debut is Apple's long-rumored smart home hub, reportedly designed to provide a central control point for smart-home devices. Reports indicate that the device could feature a roughly 6-inch display and support both countertop and wall-mounted use.
The hub is also expected to make use of Apple's AI-powered Siri features, potentially allowing it to provide more personalized information and controls around the home. The device has been informally referred to as HomePad in previous reports, although Apple has not confirmed that name.
New HomePod mini Could Get a Faster Chip
Apple is also reportedly preparing a second-generation HomePod mini. Rather than introducing a major exterior redesign, reports suggest the updated speaker could retain a similar overall design while receiving a faster processor to support Apple's newer Siri AI capabilities. New color options have also been reported. The update would give Apple's smallest smart speaker a stronger connection to the company's expanding AI and smart-home ecosystem.
New Apple TV 4K Also Reported
A new Apple TV 4K is reportedly part of the October lineup. The updated model is expected to maintain a familiar design while receiving a faster chip aimed at improving performance and supporting newer Siri AI features. Evidence for a next-generation Apple TV has also appeared in Apple's own support materials and image files, although the company has not yet announced the product.
Apple Stores Are Already Preparing
Adding to the reports, Apple Stores have reportedly received "Do Not Open" boxes ahead of new product displays scheduled to be installed on October 8. The timing has fueled speculation that Apple is preparing its retail locations for the new smart-home products ahead of the reported October 13 launch date.
A Major Expansion of Apple’s Smart-Home Strategy
The reported launch would represent an important expansion of Apple's presence in the smart-home market.
The new products are expected to place greater emphasis on Siri AI, potentially giving Apple a broader platform for personalized smart-home controls and services. Reports suggest the HomePod mini and Apple TV updates are particularly focused on providing the processing power needed for Apple's newer AI capabilities.
For now, however, October 13 remains a reported launch date rather than an officially confirmed Apple event. Apple could reveal the products through a keynote, press releases, or another announcement format.
More details are likely to emerge as Apple approaches the reported October launch window.
