MacBook Pro With OLED Touch Screen Rumored to Launch in October or November
John

Apple could be getting ready to introduce a major redesign of the MacBook Pro, with the company’s first OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro reportedly expected to arrive as early as October or November 2026.
According to recent reports, Apple is working on redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models that could bring several significant changes to the company’s high-end notebooks, including OLED displays and touch support.
OLED Touchscreen Could Be the Biggest Change
The most notable upgrade is expected to be the move from traditional LCD technology to OLED displays. The new panels could offer deeper blacks, higher contrast and improved response times while also introducing touchscreen functionality to the MacBook Pro lineup.
Apple has historically kept touchscreens away from the Mac, instead relying on the trackpad and keyboard for interaction. A touchscreen MacBook Pro would therefore represent a major change in the company's laptop strategy.
Thinner Design and New Display Features
The redesigned MacBook Pro is also rumored to feature a thinner chassis. Apple could further modernize the display by replacing the current camera notch with a Dynamic Island-style cutout. The new design is expected to maintain the premium build and large displays associated with the MacBook Pro while making the laptops slimmer and more visually streamlined.
M5 Pro and M5 Max Chips Expected
The upcoming models are also rumored to feature Apple's next-generation M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, giving the notebooks additional performance for demanding professional workloads. The combination of Apple silicon, OLED technology and a touchscreen could make the redesigned MacBook Pro significantly different from the current generation.
Possible October or November Release
Apple has not officially announced the new MacBook Pro, so the reported launch timing remains unconfirmed. Current rumors point to October or November 2026 as a possible release window.
If the reports are accurate, Apple could reveal more details in the coming weeks. The company could also introduce the redesigned models alongside other Mac hardware expected later this year.
For now, Apple has not confirmed the OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro, its final design, pricing or release date. More details are expected to emerge as the rumored launch window approaches.
